
Kitten Supplies & Care Basics
If you’ve found kittens, having the right supplies can make care safer and less stressful. Start with these essential items used by rescue teams and foster caregivers.
First 24 Hours: Emergency Must-Haves
- Soft towels or blankets
- Heating pad (low setting only)
- Box or carrier for safe containment
- Digital kitchen scale (grams preferred)
- Kitten Milk Replacer (KMR)
- Bottle or syringe for feeding
Avoid cow’s milk or human milk alternatives. Only use kitten-specific formula.
Feeding Supplies

- Kitten feeding bottles

- Small syringes (for weak kittens)
- Bottle warmer or warm water bowl
- Mini whisk or blender bottle for mixing formula
Always feed kittens belly-down — never on their back.

- Non-clumping litter (for older kittens)
- Shallow litter tray
- Paper towels
- Petroleum jelly (for urine scald protection if needed)
Kittens under 3–4 weeks cannot eliminate on their own and require stimulation after feeding.

- Heating source (safe and low temperature)
- Quiet, low-traffic room
